Accident on I-69 in Grant County kills 1 driver, injures 2 others

GRANT COUNTY, IN - One driver was killed and two others injured in an accident in Grant County, WTHR reported.

Three vehicles were involved in the wreck on Interstate 69 near the exit for State Road 18 on Thursday morning.

Indiana State Police said the driver of a 2009 Chrysler minivan was headed north on I-69 at about 9:35 a.m. and crashed into the back of a Chevrolet Express van.  The impact caused the Chevrolet to then hit the back of a semi-truck.

The Chrysler driver died at the scene.  He was identified as 61-year-old Darren T. Davis.  The driver of the Chevrolet, a 49-year-old Indianapolis man, and the semi-truck driver, a 27-year-old from Georgia, were not injured.

Indiana State Police are investigating the crash and said they do not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
