Collision at Howard Township intersection injures both drivers

CASS COUNTY, MI - A collision at an intersection in Cass County sent both drivers to the hospital, authorities said.

According to a report by WBND, the two vehicles crashed Friday afternoon in Howard Township at about 12:20 p.m.  The Cass County Sheriff's Office said a driver turning left from Leet Road onto Beebe Road failed to yield to another vehicle going southeast on Beebe Road.

The first driver, 74-year-old Anthony Lauricella, was transported to Lakeland Niles Hospital, while the other driver, 61-year-old David Culp, was taken to Memorial Hospital.  The two, who were both wearing their seat belts, are from Niles.  No details were released on their conditions.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been contributing factors in the accident, the sheriff's office said.
